Filter Maintenance & Servicing

Replace your filter as you would during normal vehicle servicing intervals.

For extreme environments such as dusty outback touring, the Gibb River Road, or extended trips through the Victorian High Country, we recommend carrying a spare filter and replacing it as required.

Regular inspection, cleaning, and replacement of your filter is essential to maintain maximum airflow, filtration efficiency, and engine protection.

Moonlight takes no responsibility for damage or performance issues caused by inadequate maintenance, incorrect servicing, or failure to maintain the airbox and filter system.

Vac Valve Maintenance

Regularly inspect and clean the vac valve to ensure correct operation.

Dust, insects, and debris can become trapped inside the valve and prevent it from sealing correctly, causing the valve to remain open. Keeping the vac valve clean and free from obstructions is essential for maintaining proper function and ensuring your airbox continues to provide maximum protection.

Lid Installation & Fastener Care

Do not overtighten the airbox lid fasteners.

Tighten only until the compression lip on the underside of the lid seats evenly against the airbox base flange. Excessive tightening can damage components, distort sealing surfaces, and affect the airbox’s ability to seal correctly.

A secure and even fit is all that is required to maintain proper sealing and performance.
